Charlie thrives on creating impact through design by gaining an understanding of the deeper causes and social complexities of issues. He brings 15 years of digital strategy, user research and project management experience, to lead ThinkPlace’s largest digital projects. Charlie brings a learning mindset to every challenge to understand the nuances and complexities.
He brings a positive and pragmatic lens to project management, and believes well-aligned people deliver projects, not just great technical design. This helps unearth innovative and cut-through solutions where traditional approaches may have failed.
Charlie has extensive involvement with research and design in the health sector in Australia and the UK. He conducted research and design that covered how to best handle sensitive issues around health privacy, representing mental health and how digital health records can make the most positive impact in people's lives.
Charlie has led large research-driven digital projects across industries including media, tourism, retail, finance and government. His experience extends across cultures: he was the digital lead for the design of the future vision of eParliament for Bhutan; designed new ways to improve the adoption of farming technologies in Ghana; and how to share disaster response methods across the Pacific. He has a strong hands-on background in web management, design and development, and is a Certified Scrum Master.
